relax, don't do it, when you want to, go do it

Hey everyone!

Glad to see I still have followers even though my blogging has not been regular lately. That doesn't mean I haven't been training, I just haven't really been keeping track of it. I'm trying to have "fun" for awhile because I know I will be in serious training mode soon enough.

The day I signed up for Cairns I ran to my coach freaking out like "omg what do I do now, how do I start." He said to me "Deanna just have fun now, because at some point it will not be fun." I am really embracing that phrase right now. I'm working out most days, swimming and bike mostly but I'm not tracking my workouts and I'm keeping it pretty low stress. I know that soon enough (end of August) marathon training starts and I'll be running a ton.

Yesterday I did a chill 700 meter swim with the Tinman clinic then rode alone about 30 miles. It felt great. Today I was supposed to hike, but we got rained out and started drinking Bloody Mary's instead. Now that I am sober, I think I'll run tonight.

since you've gone i been lost without a trace. i dream at night i can only see your face

Where is everyone?

Blogger seems like a ghost town lately. I guess that means everyone is training hard. I'm getting back into it. I'm off the crack (poptarts dipped in nutella) and I'm back on the old boring diet. My training is picking up, but I'm not really running that much.

Today I did a 50 mile bike ride and that felt great. I'm reading up on some Triathlon books on my new kindle (well new to me... my parents hated it so sent it to me.) Other than that, really not too much new going on. I miss reading about everyones training, so how about an update. This means you Annie and Sachie.

Finally, the news I've been waiting to report.
I got into Ironman Cairns Australia on June 9, 2013.

Day 1 of training starts today! Even though it's raining I am going to run and go to the pool. No excuses or pop tarts!

I am so thrilled to finally be on my way to achieve my goal of becoming an Ironman! I'm not really sure what to expect, but I am super excited to see what the next year of training brings to me! Song: Irene Cara, Flashdance - What A Feeling
